Amelia Morley-Smith
I joined Brethertons as a Legal Assistant in July 2023 after graduating from university. I commenced my role as a Paralegal in the Family Team in July 2024.
Within my role, I support all lawyers in our Family Team.
However, I primarly assist lawyers with Children and Domestic Violence matters which fall under the Children Act 1989 and the Family Law Act 1996. Examples of the work that I complete is the drafting of Court applications, preliminary documents and statements, preparation of Court bundles, obtaining instructions from clients, and attending hearings at Court.
My aim is to become a qualified solicitor. I will commence a Masters of Law – Professional Legal Practice (LLM) in September 2024 which will assist me in sitting the Solicitors Qualifying Exams.
