Allison joined Brethertons in 2019 as Senior Associate Solicitor within the Serious Injuries team. Prior to this, Allison worked for a large national firm for over 20 years, and for the last 15 years in a specialist Serious Injuries Unit.
During this time, and since moving to Brethertons, Allison has successfully represented many injured clients who have suffered catastrophic and life changing injuries. Allison has particular expertise and experience of brain injury cases, including the most severe cases, as well as single and bilateral amputations, degloving injuries and severe burns, and many cases involving multiple orthopaedic injuries. Allison has also dealt with a significant number of fatal accident claims, including representation at Inquests. She has experience of dealing with the Court of Protection, and of cases for children, as well as periodical payment orders and cases involving provisional damages. She has dealt with some unusual cases including contraction of serious infections, as well as infections leading to sepsis.
Allison has extensive experience of all different types of claim, including road traffic accidents, accidents at work and public liability cases, as well as clinical negligence claims. She has recovered many millions of pounds in compensation for injured people and assisted colleagues on other cases.
Allison is an APIL accredited Senior Litigator and has an excellent track record of successfully pursuing difficult cases on behalf of clients. Many of her cases have settled or succeeded at trial for sums in excess of a million pounds.
When acting for clients with serious injuries Allison is keen to ensure that she fully understands the nature of their injuries, their treatment, including what rehabilitation may be available and the adjustments and adaptions which they and their family will need. She is always aware of the effects an injury can have on the whole family, as well as the injured person, and will go out of her way to provide assistance in dealing with issues that are associated with the injury, even when they do not form part of the claim, or after a claim has settled. Her experience enables her to signpost clients to appropriate bodies for support if she is not able to assist personally. Allison prides herself on building up good relationships with her clients, always being approachable, and in being able to put a client at ease.
Allison says ‘I am passionate about using my experience and expertise to help clients with life changing injuries access the compensation they deserve, and am proud to be part of the Brethertons team and making a real difference to clients’ lives for the future.’
