Newly qualified solicitor Nicole Romera, is adding to her skills by entering this year’s Strictly Banbury and she’s loving every minute of it. “It started off as a bit of fun” says Nicole “but I’m taking it more and more seriously at each training session. The two dances we’re learning are the Cha cha cha and the Viennese Waltz. There are lots of steps to remember and the Cha cha cha is really fast but luckily I have a lovely and very patient partner!”
With just over a month until show time, Nicole is stepping up the training. “It couldn’t be more different from my day job at Brethertons but I want to give my dancing the same level of commitment as my work” she declares.
There are a number of couples from the local community giving their time to Strictly Banbury, with the competition taking place at The Mill Arts Centre, Banbury on 29 April to 1 May. Nicole’s colleagues have already bought their tickets so they can cheer her on at this charity event in aid of the Thames Valley Air Ambulance.
“I can’t wait to get dressed up in the ballroom sparkles and show everyone what I’ve learnt. It’ll make all the hard work worthwhile and prove that just because you have a serious job doesn’t mean you can’t have a bit of glitz and glamour in your life”.
