The winners of a photography competition to find artwork for a local law firm’s new office have collected their prizes at the Grand Opening, held last week.
Brethertons officially opened Montague House on Clifton Road at a celebration held on Wednesday last week. The event was chaired by Brethertons’ Senior Partner Richard Pell who regaled guests with anecdotes from the firm’s 200 year history. Special guest Martin Bayfield, ex-England rugby international, cut the ribbon and entertained guests with a humorous speech about his experiences on and off the field.
The 12 ‘highly commended’ photographs were printed on canvas in time for the party and now adorn the walls of Montague House. Winners and finalists of the competition came to the party to see their photographs hung in the office. After collecting his prize, second place winner Mark Haycox said, “I would like to thank the senior partners for acknowledging my efforts and for rewarding me with the £100 gift voucher which is going towards a new lens for my camera.”
Guests at the party were also treated to close up magicians Young & Strange, a delicious buffet courtesy of I Am Your Chef and serenaded by fabulous acoustic quartet Swing Gitan UK.
Richard Pell comments, “There were so many great shots that represent our vibrant town and the people who live in it. It was really tough choosing the winners but we managed to whittle it down to just 12 that we felt really ‘got’ the brief.”
