In April, we revealed an exciting new brand and website which was designed to reflect the culture and values of the ‘law firm of the future’. When we launched the website, we encouraged you to take a look around and enter a quiz to win an iPad. For every entry we received, we donated £1 to our charity of the year, SpecialEffect.
We’re delighted to report that the money we’ve raised so far has enabled SpecialEffect to continue its wonderful work of putting fun and inclusion back into the lives of people with physical disabilities by helping them to play video games. Specifically, the money has gone towards helping 12 year old Ellie, who has cerebral palsy, play the racing game DiRT Showdown on the PlayStation for the first time.
Her cerebral palsy means that she struggles to control her arms and hands, but she’s got great control of her feet. Here she is in SpecialEffect’s games room using them to control a joystick to steer, and moving her head to hit switches for accelerate and brake.
Check out the video for 15 fabulous seconds of Ellie rocking the game!
