Peter is an expert on the changing world of work and its impact on organisations, leadership and management. He regularly speaks on this topic at conferences and has worked with many groups of senior managers to inspire them to change their organisational culture.
After a 20 year career in HR in the IT industry leading up to the dawn of the Internet, Peter founded the Future Work Forum at Henley Business School. He was Director of the Forum for 16 years, during which time he carried out research into the changing patterns of work and the management implications of these trends.
Peter is co-author, with Alison Maitland, of the business bestseller ‘Future Work’ which has recently been republished as an updated and expanded second edition. He has appeared on TV and radio and has been widely quoted in the business press. As a consultant and coach, he works with leadership teams and individuals to help them gain the maximum business benefit from new working practices.
Peter is a Director of Wisework, the leading consultancy in smart working and past Director of Research for the Telework Association. He is an active member of the RSA, contributing to discussions on new forms of organisation and is chairman of a special interest group in the CIPD. He is also a visiting executive fellow at Henley Business School.
