Join us for our first networking breakfast of 2016, where we are joined by the Reverend Imogen Nay of St. Andrews Church who will talk us through what it's like to work in one of the oldest institutions operating still in the UK. Rev'd Nay will discuss the modern day challenges of running a church along with sharing the range of activities that St Andrew's gets involved in in the community.
St Andrew's Church is the civic church of Rugby and the Rector of the church holds the historic title of Rector of Rugby. St Andrew's works closely with the town authorities in supporting town centre regeneration as well as supporting various charities through its work. It runs a cafe Mon-Saturday in partnership with Brooke School. St Andrew's is a Grade 2* Listed Church and was designed by William Butterfield who also designed Rugby School.
Rev'd Nay has been in Rugby just over two years, previously she worked in a parish in Surbiton. She has degrees in English Literature, Theology and Renaissance Studies. Prior to being a priest she worked in the voluntary sector in London, latterly working in a large day centre in the East End of London, providing support services for women involved in prostitution, suffering from domestic abuse, mental health issues and drug addiction.
