As many of our clients based in North Oxfordshire will know, for over 15 years Brethertons have occupied a very prominent position near the Town Centre at our offices in Waterperry Court near the train station. In January of this year, after many happy years at this location, we decided to place the property on the market, and look to relocate to something much more modern, functional and practical for a law firm in the 21st Century.
We were delighted that a number of developers thought that our Waterperry Court was sufficiently attractive to invite a lot of interest and on 24th September we entered into a contract for the building to be sold for development.
CEO Alison McCormack confirmed, “Our clients should rest assured that we have not left the town. We have been here for nearly 30 years and have no plans to relocate elsewhere. Our lawyers will continue to service our clients in the town and surrounding areas as well as operating from our offices in Bicester and Rugby.
We will be happy to continue to meet clients in the town centre as and when they wish to do so. We look forward to notifying clients regarding our new home in the very near future.”
Brethertons are currently in negotiations with several developers with a view to designing a COVID social distanced modern office.
Head of Operations, Partner Craig Webb adds, “Brethertons is certainly not leaving Banbury. We are currently working with several commercial agents to find our new “forever” home. There are a number of exciting opportunities that we are working on and, as soon as we have signed the deal, we will be able to issue a further press release with regard to our proposed location. In the short term, we will be relocating to a temporary Covid compliant location where we will be able to meet with clients in person, should we need to do so. Of course, we will still be able to meet the majority of clients via FaceTime, Zoom and Microsoft teams.
Alongside our relocation, our plans are to continue to make investment in cutting edge technology which improves our processes and give increased client benefits. One of our CSR aims is to significantly cut down on the volumes of paper that the legal profession is notorious for creating.”
Director of Legal Services, Linda Jones said, “Brethertons strength is the diversity of the legal services we offer. We plan to create a very modern, open plan, exciting dynamic workspace for our people which will allow us to service our existing clients as well as help us to retain our great workforce and recruit new talent."
