…the SpecialEffect Twin Town 2016 Challenge that is. This event will see 100 cars costing less than £500 drive from Blenheim Palace to Witney’s twin town of Le Touquet and back via Silverstone and Croix en Ternois. It is not a race but a series of twelve fun points based challenges and we are entering a Brethertons’ team and car.
SpecialEffect is our Charity of the Year. They help people with a physical disability play video games to the very best of their abilities by using technology. This tech ranges from modified joy-sticks to eye-control. But it’s not just for fun. By levelling the playing field, they bring together families and friends and that has a profoundly positive impact on therapy, confidence and rehabilitation.
Over the next couple of weeks we’ll be choosing our team of four staff members and purchasing a car to take part in the challenge over the late May Bank holiday, next year. We’re planning a competition to design one side of the car and will be offering “space to rent” on the other side, where local businesses can display their logo. If you’d like to take up some advertising space on the car please contact me or Rosie Gladden.
Some of the local companies taking part in the challenge include NaturalMotion, Wychwood Brewery, Playground Games and DC Response.
If you’re interested in taking part in the challenge you’ll find more details on the dedicated website.
