Linda Jones embodies the closely held values of Brethertons Solicitors. She has dedicated 35 years of her career to the firm, working her way through several roles from Trainee Legal Executive to Equity Partner and member of the Executive Committee. Her expertise as a family solicitor is unparalleled and her commitment to her clients has served as an example to all Brethertonians, past and present. The numerous lawyers she has mentored and guided throughout these 35 years have benefitted enormously from her thoughtful and encouraging approach. Her passion and commitment to the firm have been unwavering throughout her tenure and in recognition of her outstanding contribution, the firm celebrated Linda's 35 great years of service on Tuesday 20th June 2023.

Linda has worked in the family law sector since 1988 and qualified as a solicitor in 1998. She studied through CILEx and at De Montfort University in Leicester gaining a Distinction in the Legal Practice Course. Linda is also a member of the Law Society Advanced Family Law panel.
In addition to her legal qualifications, Linda has incredibly effective communication and interpersonal skills. Those are well honed and are essential for success in complex family law cases. She listens to her clients' needs and she supports them through compassionate and well considered legal advice. She understands how stressful, upsetting and traumatic legal proceedings might be for her client and she strives to ensure that her own clients, and those of the wider firm, understand that she is very much on their side and with them at every point in the process. She is that unique professional who combines expertise with genuine care. Her motivation in everything she does is to ensure her clients know “we’ve got this.” For them. From the first approach to the end of the matter, Linda is available, present and always reassuring. Even when things may be very difficult for her clients at that moment in their lives, she is working towards helping them build a brighter future at the end of it.
The evidence of that approach comes in the form of the development of a bespoke counselling service. We believe it to be one of a kind in the UK. It is a very successful support service, run by our fully trained in house Counsellor who helps our clients through often traumatic periods of their life whether as a result of family breakdown, bereavement or life changing injury. The service is free of charge to clients of the firm and some of the relationships formed with clients over 10 years ago, exist to this day and are stronger than ever, as a direct result of this wonderful support.
As Director of Legal Services, Linda Jones plays a pivotal role in ensuring that all legal teams within Brethertons deliver a high-quality service to each of our clients, built from trust reliability and respect. Our ethos of Valuing Clients and Each Other is integral to that. With her extensive experience in Family, Wills, Trusts, Capacity & Probate, Life Changing Injuries and Property law, Linda has a deep understanding of the legal landscape and is able to provide valuable insights to her colleagues throughout the firm.
Being part of Brethertons' Executive Committee means that Linda is involved in making key decisions regarding the future of the firm. These decisions are often around strategic planning, financial management, and ensuring that Brethertons is focused on delivering a trusted legal service to clients, new and existing.
Overall, Linda's leadership style and experience are critical to the success of this 200 year plus firm, and she has played a significant role in shaping the Brethertons we know today.
